Processing any lignocellulosic biomass into a BioCoal

Introduction
Today, humanity faces several exceptional issues for their scale and their urgency as well:

  • great energy demand,
  • climate change,
  • resource depletion, particularly fossil fuels.

Public opinion and greenhouse effects are driving people mind into switching from burning dirty fossil coal to a cleaner energy:

  • stop burning coal,
  • replace it by a bio-fuel… like BioCoal

Any Coal Fired Power Plan with a capacity of 1,000MWh burns about 125 tonnes of fossil coal per hour !!! Or a staggering 1.10 million tonnes of coal per year… Even more if less efficient! Especially because it is much less efficient.
Not to forget the millions tonnes of CO2 released into the atmosphere:

  • And NO’s, SO’x, mercury and fluoride,
  • They do not go away, they just go somewhere else!!!

At KookaBio Pty Ltd, we have developed a technology to torrefy the lignocellulosic  biomass into a BioCoal, clean bio-fuel to replace >50% the fossil coal so polluting without any major blast fire improvement.

Industry and Market Analysis
Any BioCoal with desired qualities would have very little or no competition since nothing has been industrially produced yet.
The literature on specialised sites gives us many examples of technologies boasting of producing BioCoal without real results. What can we fear from them, except that to concentrate ourselves on torrefying of the lignocellulosic biomass and not on anything else.
